History of Kaaz Holding Company, Inc.

Kaaz Holding Company, Inc. fka Kaaz Woodwork Company, Inc. was originally founded in 1907. In 1927, the company was moved from Atchison, Kansas to Leavenworth, Kansas. The company owned a woodworking plant and engaged in general woodworking for universities, hospitals, schools, hotels, and churches in the region. In the 1970s, the main plant located in downtown Leavenworth was sold and the focus of the company changed from general woodworking to private investment management. Offices were maintained at the main plant location at 221 Delaware Street for the next 30 years, where the firm was owned and managed by Art O. Kaaz Jr., a grandson of the founder and graduate of Harvard Business School.   The focus of the business was primarily equity securities from the 1970s through the 1990s, at which time the focus changed to fixed income security investments.
